Well this is my first ever attempt at blogging. I work at a bookstore and love to discuss books. Young adult books are one of my favorite genres, and because I am a lesbian I have noticed the recent increase in GLBT titles in this section. When I was growing up(many moons ago) there was not much available for teens who were discovering that their sexuality was different from the majority! Therefore, I decided that I would love to become a resource for teens, parents, and others concerned with helping GLBT young people to find good role models and feel good about themselves.
I imagine this site as doing any number of things:
Reviewing titles with GLBT themes that are suitable for teens and young adults.
Providing a forum for discussion and feedback on these titles and reviews.
Linking to other sites with like interests.
Linking to other sites that may provide help for these young people.
Collecting a master list of book titles recommended for GLBT teens and their friends, families, etc.
Please provide me with any feedback you may have on this idea. Also send titles and reviews of those titles for me to use here.

Hi, Clover. I really think your blog is a very good idea. I like that you have such a strong focus (something I can't manage to do with my own blog). And I think it's an admirable topic, to boot! We need for people to feel welcome and confident. There have been way too many decades of those exclusionary feelings being fostered by a cruel society. I wish you the best of luck with it. I'm sure that if you keep at it, you'll develop a vibrant community of readers.
